Terrible Customer Service
I would give 0 stars if I could, I had basic annual labs done and received a bill from quest for the full amount, the bill stated that my insurance information could not be verified. I called quest to see what the problems was and to make sure my insurance info was entered correctly, I spoke with a woman who said I did not have an active policy, although I was certain I did. I called insurance where my coverage was verified, insurance gave me a reference ID # for the call and said to give it to quest, have quest call them and give them that ID # and they could verify coverage for them. I called quest back and spoke to different woman. Both of the ladies from quest verified my member ID more than once. I told her was insurance said to do and told her I had a reference number for her, she stated she could not make outbound calls but I could call insurance and then conference quest in on the call. I told her I would go ahead and conference insurance in while I had her on the line due to my insurance being easy to get ahold of. Insurance verified my coverage verbally but said she would transfer us to physician services to get them the info they needed sent to them, while we were waiting the quest employee said she could not be on the phone any longer and that I would have to have insurance call her. About that Time, the next person we were waiting to speak with from insurance picked up and asked the quest employee her tax Id #, the quest employee stated she did not have that handy, stated she thinks there was a number left off of the member ID even though it had been verified multiple times, and ended up ending the call with insurance and stated she would try to run it through them again. It should not be this difficult to verify insurance coverage when they had the correct information to start with. An individual should not have to take matters into their own hands when it comes to connecting quest with insurance when they can use a phone just as easy as I can. Quest customer service is hateful, hard to deal with, and sound miserable with their job.

Quest's acknowledged error - my problem to fix
Four days ago I had ordered labs done. I signed a denial form that a test not be done, as I have to do the identical test in a month, in order for a procedure to be done within three weeks from that future test. Quest ran this test anyway. It is expensive. I took my results down (which even showed "patient refused some tests") to the lab on July 31. They acknowledged it was Quest's mistake, and told me I had to call customer service, billing, etc. It has been a total nightmare. I am furious that Quest dumps THEIR error on me, and no one is helpful except to "call back" when they get the billing. They can't even be intelligent enough to flag my record to NOT bill me when the bill IS received/ processed at their billing department! I HAVE to call back, stay on impossible holds, etc.
Not impressed.

Would not recommend this location
The location I went to is the most administratively incompetent place I have ever been for bloodwork. Should have been easy as pie to get pre op bloodwork, have it faxed to my surgeon and the end. But it wasn’t. Called multiple times, long hold times and then disconnected twice; called back and had to start over 3 times with 3 different people. Are there no system notes regarding patient calls???!! Surgeons order was not done, but pcp and rheumatologist orders done and was told those could be used. Their customer service skills are just so subpar it’s like a comedy of errors; would be funny if it weren’t a few days from the surgery. A mess. Would not recommend this location. Best thing about this visit was that the phlebotomist was great…needle in and out with one go, and no bruising afterwards. Otherwise a paperwork cluster that a patient shouldn’t be involved in.

QUEST is charging UPFRONT $50 even w/…
QUEST is charging UPFRONT $50 even w/ insurance. My husband was asked to pay $50 and he thought he had to! We only owed $2.25.
Beware: You do NOT have to upfront pay especially when you have insurance.
The reason the techs ask is because the more money they bring in the bigger their bonuses.
