Far more detail than necessary. So much time has to be devoted to red tape versus actual work. What was a good idea has gone wrong with the huge amount of tasks associated to working

A couple of examples: - If you create a new task. More often than not, the start and end dates are days, weeks, months, or years in the past. Fixing the dates is a LOT of mindless work. - The UI is very modal. Many simple edits require diving through multiple screens in just the right magic order.

My division uses Workfront for project management. The pluses are it allows many users and provides a variety of reports. The downside is it's difficult to learn and use. Inputting a new project takes quite a bit of time, it isn't intuitive, and it doesn't factor in common circumstances, such as a project being delayed or put on hold.

Overpriced and difficult to use. Training was terrible. Set up took ages. Overall crap

This is built on the framework of linear, parent-child projects & tasks -- Waterfall, waterfall, waterfall. The Agile content just doesn't work well at all. Finally, there is a lot of frustration with hard to use content. For example, there's no easy way to enter time on the app -- best is a timelogger so I don't need to enter a damn thing other than start-click; stop-click, and it does all the magic for me. If you make it easy and automatic, I'll use it. If not, it just plain sucks. Overall, remember, creating & managing the project in Workfront does NOT get the project work done. ALL of Workfront is WASTE. Therefore, it should be ultra-simple, ultra-smooth, ultra-easy to use with a heck of a lot of automation & work-done-for-me, or else it is a waste of my time.

I avoid using Workfront if possible. Its user interface is terrible. It's nearly impossible to figure out what screen and what selection to make to enter the simplest things, and it takes twenty clicks when one would do.
