i tried to download the free version of this, and later i found that another sketchy app (something like iphone data recovery, aka clearly a scam to steal your data) had been downloading off chrome

The trial version does not, as advertised, offer the 5x download capability, and also cuts off all downloads after 3 minutes. The "free trial" is not actually workable -- it is just a trick to get you to purchase the full version (which is quite expensive). There are other, better alternatives with less bait-and-switch.

The converter works great when it is up to date with the latest macOS. Otherwise, you have to wait for the developers to make an update which takes.....FOREVER!

Noteburner Spotify Music Converter works perfectly when downloading Spotify music to MP3 format. Noteburner provides the fastest downloading speed to download Spotify music not only to MP3 format, but also to WAV format, AAC format, WMA format, FLAC format, etc. Also the downloaded Spotify music is not with any ad or virus. You never get any downloaded Spotify music with quality loss.

I first tested the demo version of their Spotify converter for Mac and didn’t notice anything unusual, so I went ahead and purchased the full version, in order to be able to play Spotify songs in Traktor. I let the converter its thing on a playlist. When it had finished, much to my surprise, I noticed that the songs that NoteBurner was "convertering" were mostly cut off at the beginning, rendering them completely useless. As far as I can guess now, this program is playing the songs live off of Spotify and recording them to audio, but failing at getting the timing right? Unimpressive. I am waiting to hear back from the company but am not optimistic about getting a refund or a fix based on the poor reviews that I have now seen on this site.

Scam. For every positive review please click open their profile to see their profile is actually located in China and faked the posting location somehow to US / others OR an obvious paid review account that just goes around giving good reviews to sketch products.
